Slowing down mp3 recordings
Many mp3 players now include the ability to slow down
or speed up the music.
Media player - on recent versions this facility is found
then under Play Speed
Settings. To find Enhancements, right click whilst in the blue screen of Windows Media player.
QuickTime player - also has a similar facility.
Transcribe! - if you would like to go further, for example to isolate specific sections of a song, to continuously loop round tricky sections, to change pitch and speed, plus much more, then use the Transcribe! programme from Seventh String. You can download and try Transcribe! free for 30 days, and it doesn't cost much to buy. It was written by a musician for musicians by a freind of my old trumpet teacher!
The IMSLP website has much music for French Horn. Follow this link to find out what's available:
Steve Park's website includes lots of recordings of Steve playing classical horn solos, plus separate accompaniments (without horn) for many horn solos (including many concertos). These are available as MP3s for download.
Here are some links to recordings on YouTube.
Whilst you are there, have a look at some of the alternative recordings
